2012 Pun-Off (Official Results)

He may hail from Queens NY, but Jerzy Gwiazdowski will rain for the next year as new world champion in Punniest of Show. Although he was a total newbie to our contest, Jerzy did arrive with some experience at competitive punning, having recently claimed a 2nd place honors in a PUNderdome competition in Brooklyn, NY. Gwiazdowski scored a rare 40 out of a possible 40 points with our judge panel. That left our 2011 champ, Gracie “I barely know her” Deegan of Austin, TX with sloppy seconds and Benjamin Ziek of Glendale, CA to walk away with a not-so-shabby piece of 3rd place metal to show he’s still hardware it counts.

In the PunSlingers contest, the multi-medaled Andy Balinsky of Austin, TX tied for 3rd place this year against another Austinite, 2009 winner Matt Pollock. Our 2year defending champ, Benjamin ”Game show freak” Ziek, was knocked down to a mere second by the rising star, (former 2nd place in 2011) Dav Wallace of Round Rock, TX. whose formidable talents are much like my runaway train of thought, very dis-tracked.

The 2012 mmMVP trophy was awarded to the intrepid P.O.S. champ, Jerzy Gwiazdowski for his talented presentation and significant skills in winning smiles.  Check out more details, photos and linx on this website soon.

2012 T-shirtGive your stamp of approval to the 2012 Pun-Off T-shirt design!! Artist Quinn Argall played off the new US postal stamp design that commemorates the 150th anniversary of O. We do still have some tease laughed-over from 2011 which should be able for purchase at the event this jeer.
