FOR IMMEDIATE RELIEF:
After months of exhaustive searching and researching, the “Bored of Governors” of the International Save The Pun Foundation (ISTPF) has finally separated the suite from the gaff and is ready to reveal their annual compilation of The 10 Best-Stressed Puns of 2014 (See list below).
Since 1978 when J. S. Crosbie founded the ISTPF in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, it has been a word-leader in the presentation and perpetration of worthy wordplay. Today this tradition is carried on threw out the cyber-sphere by members of P.U.N.Y. (Punsters United Nearly Yearly,) a closely affiliated support group spawned by the perspicacious punslingers of the O.Henry Pun-Off World Championships in Austin, Texas.
You can find more information on both groups on Facebook or follow #PunOff 2015, @leerlessfeeder, or @PUNY2015 on Twitter.
A weighty “you-were-there” guide to this year’s O. Henry Pun-Off World Championships by Zachary Pincus-Roth in a LA Weekly feature story “At the World Pun Championships, Victory Is Easier Said Than Punned“ is a thoughtful character profile of the 2014 Punslinger and Punniest of Show winners including local LA punmeister Ben Ziek, Washington D.C.’s Alexandra Petri, and Austinites Matt Pollock, Andy Balinsky, and Dav Wallace. Pincus-Roth paints a detailed picture of the entire two-day event, including the Friday night dinner wordplay honoring the Punster of the Year (P.O.T.Y.) Unlike most reporting about the Pun-Off, Pincus-Roth actually shares numerous puns made by the competitors so you can groan along! We rate this article a 10!

No, Charles Osgood wasn’t there, but they did send their ace interviewer, Lee Cowan ( ) who made it hap-pun as well as tireless camera crew who documented hours of the before and after happenings at this year’s Pun-Off.
